Ron Lewis - Founding Pastor/Senior Minister
In 1983, Ron Lewis (www.ronlewisministries.com)
helped start a campus ministry at his alma mater, University of North
Carolina-Chapel Hill, which grew into a regional church, King’s Park
International Church, touching the universities and communities of
Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Through his leadership, over 100
full-time ministers have been trained and released into the mission
field, at least 30 churches have been planted, and King’s Park’s
ministry extended into nations around the world including China, South
Korea, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Guam, Taiwan, Scotland, and Hungary.
During this time, the influence of King’s Park was felt throughout the
Triangle region as Ron pioneered the building of an 11 million,
state-of-the-art worship complex with seating for 2,200 people. In 1990,
Ron founded Campus Harvest, a short-term missions program and student
conference that has grown to attract over 2,000 students annually from
over 200 college campuses across the United States and around the world.
In 1995, Ron walked through an open door into the nation of China,
resulting in the formation of Strategic China Initiative (SCI), a
ministry that develops training centers to equip indigenous Chinese
pastors with theological foundations and practical ministry skills. To
date, SCI has trained more than 40,000 leaders, distributed over 50 tons
of literature, printed and distributed 750,000 Bibles throughout China,
and sent out over 75 full-time national Chinese to reach minority groups
within China. Ron continues to work inside China in serving and
consulting with many of the key leaders of the underground house church
movement. In addition, he is active in educating and lobbying
politicians and human rights groups on behalf of the persecuted church
in China. With the help of Every Nation Ministries, Ron co-founded a
dynamic, growing church at Times Square in the heart of Manhattan just
after 9/11. This church is reaching the greater metropolitan area of New
York City and has a significant outreach to Russian Jews in Brooklyn.
Ron also founded the Community Life Center, an educational and tutorial
ministry to disadvantaged children in the inner city of Durham, which
has been called by the City of Durham a "win-win" situation. Ron’s first
book is Standing on the Word, and his theological training comes from
the Reformed Theological Seminary of Charlotte, North Carolina and
Orlando, Florida. Pastor Ron is one of 17 contributing authors for
Living the Second Mile Life, which was the last book project by the late
Bill Bright (founder of Campus Crusade for Christ). This book includes
chapters by D. James Kennedy and Reinhardt Bonke. Pastor Ron serves on
several boards including the Every Nation Senior Leadership Team.
Splitting his time between New York City and Cary, NC, Ron has four
sons: Nathan, Christian, Jordan, and John Luke. He and his wife, Lynette
(www.lynettelewis.com),
split their time between Manhattan and Raleigh.
