King's Kids!
The Children’s Ministry at KPIC is a place where kids can:
- Experience God’s love and care, - [get] Exposed to
God’s work in our world, and - Explore God’s plan for themselves
Here’s what’s going on for kids at KPIC!
FALL IS HERE!
Kids are going back to school and life is getting busy again. For those
of you in year round programming, you might have been in for several
weeks, but the rest of our kids are heading back now. My family's life
already feels more stretched so I am sure many of you feel the same.
Here's what's going on for kids in the next few months:
-
Move Up Sunday, September 5th - For children who've had a birthday or
entered a new grade in school since last March, this is the time to
move up. We are flexible on this system so let us know if your child
has special circumstances that warrant a different placement. Contact
your child's teacher or a member of the Children's Ministry leadership
team for more info.
-
Wednesday night programming - Tae Kwon Do and (new this semester) a
Girl Scouts Brownie unit will begin on Wednesday nights this fall at
KPIC. These programs run from 7 to 8 pm each Wednesday. Nursery and
Preschool care is also operating again. Our elementary age program,
"Deeper", is in the process of restructuring and will not happen right
away. More details to come on that in the next couple of weeks.
-
FIESTA! - October 31, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Our annual family carnival in
the East parking lot at KPIC is back again this year. Plans are
starting now. Email kingskids@kpic.org if you'd like to be involved
on the Steering Committee or as a volunteer. Mark your calendars and
don't miss this exciting night of fun!

Sunday morning ongoing ministry
Our weekly Sunday morning ministry continues at 10 am for children ages
6 months to 5 years and beginning after worship for kids in grades 1
through 8. Parents with middle schoolers should make sure to
check out the Purple Book class for grades 6 through 8 in room 204
following worship each week.
Wednesday evening ongoing ministry
Our Wednesday evening ministry runs through the school year (September
to May) and breaks during major holidays (like the night before
Thanksgiving and between Christmas and New Years). This includes nursery
and preschool childcare, Deeper for elementary age children, a Girl
Scouts Brownie unit, and Tae Kwon Do. In case you haven't joined us on
Wednesday evenings in the past, here's the rundown:
-
At 7 pm, during our worship-based prayer meeting in the sanctuary,
programs begin for kids age 6 months to 5 years in room 105, the Candy
Land room. At the same time, Tae Kwon Do begins for kids age 5 to 11
years in room 115, the rear of the Fellowship Hall. For children age
6 to 11 who don't wish to participate in Tae Kwon Do, families are
invited to bring their children into the prayer meeting.
-
At 7:30 pm, Nursery, Preschool, and Tae Kwon Do programs continue, and
Deeper, our program for kids age 6 to 11 begins in the main portion of
the Fellowship Hall. This is a mid-week program designed to help your
kids go deeper in relationship with God, in their study of the
material presented during our Sunday AM ministry, and in their
relationships with each other. (DEEPER is on an extended break
temporarily; more details to come.)
-
At 8:00 pm, Tae Kwon Do ends and participants are invited to join
Deeper for the remaining half hour. All programs end at 8:30 pm.
