Worship-based prayer begins with and is fueled by God and His character, not our needs. It is a prayer meeting where singing, spontaneous Scripture reading, and prayers that focus on who God is flow freely.

There is a profound difference between request-based prayers and worship-based prayers. Broken down, it really is the difference between seeking God’s hand and His face.

Of course, God is Spirit (John. 4:24) so the idea of His hand and face are concepts designed to help us understand how He works and how we should relate to Him. In general, His hand refers to what He does for me. His face is who He is to me.

Through worship-based prayer, we will experience God’s hand in incredible ways. But His face will Keep us praying. 

The beauty of who He is, the wonder of His character and the power of His name will become our primary passions.

Why? Because God longs to be sought.

Do you want to know how to deepen your prayer life? Pray.

Don’t prepare to pray. Just Pray. 

Don’t read about prayer. Just Pray. 

Don’t attend a lecture or engage in discussion about prayer. Just Pray.

Posture, tone, and place are personal matters. Select the form that works for you. But don’t think about it too much. Don’t be so concerned about wrapping the gift that you never give it. Better to pray awkwardly then not at all. 

And if you feel you should only pray when inspired, that’s okay. Just see to it that you are inspired everyday.
