2012 Commission Campaign
Kings Park has a long, unique and rich history of local and
international missions, church planting and service. As Jesus has
commanded, we have given ourselves to his Acts 1:8 commission to send
ourselves into Jerusalem (our friends and neighbors), Judea and Samaria
(this region), and to the ends of the earth (the rest of the world). In
our 2012 missions support efforts, we are focusing on ten diverse areas
of budding ministry and outreach happening in our midst. We call this
collective effort from the people of God toward the Great Commission the
Commission Campaign.
LOCAL
Kings Park Cares Formally known as the Kings Park Hope
Fund, Kings Park Cares is a support initiative for supplying small but
significant financial support for Kings Park members and others in need.
We have seen countless lives helped through this practical and prayerful
effort.
Durham
Life Center To rebuild and serve a community, King's Park
provides financial, parenting, marriage, and job counseling, as well as
extracurricular and after school activities for children of the
Cornwallis Public Housing Community. We are continuing to build this
ongoing, local effort.
8 Campus
Outreaches (Duke, NCCU, UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State,
Meredith, Peace, Shaw, Art Institute of Durham) In partnership
with Every Nation Campus Ministries, a church-based ministry, Kings Park
is committed to reaching thousands of students each year with the gospel
of Christ, training them to be leaders, and releasing them into the
harvest of their chosen profession.
NATIONAL
Raleigh King's
Park Raleigh (KPR) is a new church plant launched strategically to reach
the residents of Raleigh within its specific culture. KPR officially
launched August 28, 2011 and is successfully engaging a new constituency
of multi-ethnic, multi-generational harvest in the region.
Chicago Chicago remains the third largest city in
America, behind New York and Los Angeles. Its population of 2.69 million
people in the city proper represents every continent, as well as every
major world religion indicating the need for consistent and growing
gospel ministry. We are moving into Chicago hoping to see the city
become a church planting center to reach the spiritually declined and
unreached people groups of the world.
INTERNATIONAL
International Church Planting (Belize & Suriname) The
open doors to Belize and Suriname have been astounding. With influential
relationships in hand, we are hoping to bring Gospel transformation to
the communities of Belize and salvation to a country with the largest
percentage of Muslim population in the Western world, Suriname.
North &
South Korea Even while positioned in a place surrounded
by countries experiencing political unrest or under religious
persecution, this church sees no boundaries. The Every Nation church in
South Korea carries the message of Jesus Christ to countries like North
Korea, Mongolia, and China despite its risks.
International
Students Working with Every Nation Campus Ministries,
Kings Park, and other churches, the International Ministry and Interest
eXchange (iMIX)
creates a strong community of believers to serve and lead international
students who represent the top one percent of leaders in their native
countries.
ORPHANS
Mirembe
House The mission of the Mirembe House is to provide a
restful, healthy, and spiritually guided home experience for at-risk
African orphans within the internationally renowned African Children's
Choir while they are on tour. The African Childrens Choir is a
travelling choir that raises funds for orphanages and school programs in
Kenya and Uganda.
Adoption The Adoption ministry seeks to encourage,
mentor, and support the Kings Park body of believers spiritually and
financially to boldly follow the Gospel through adopting one or more of
the 163 million orphans and children in foster care.
